The Draft Is Done

Posted by Santa Cruz Mid-County PONY Baseball at Feb 7, 2022 3:12PM PST

We drafted teams this week. Expect to hear from managers very soon. First practices will be at Monterey Park where we had tryouts. For schedule click the Calendar link in the above menu. To get on our email list please provide your information using the “Contact Us” menu link above.

Many of the bats allowed in travel ball competition are not compliant with the USABat standard and may not be used in PONY league and tournament play.

In conjunction with USA Baseball and its other participating national member organizations, PONY Baseball adopted the USA Baseball bat standard (USABat) on January 1, 2018. Except for -3 (BBCOR certified), all other 2 1/4" and 2 5/8" barrel bats with a minus factor of (-5, -7, -9, etc.), must be USABat certified with the USABat licensing stamp on the bat in order to be used for league and tournament play.

Click this link for complete information about he USA Baseball bat standard on the PONY National website. https://www.pony.org/Default.aspx?tabid=1231472

For assistance see a local sporting goods store like our long time league sponsors Play It Again Sports in Soquel. https://www.playitagainsports-soquel.com/ Bottom line is that bats MUST HAVE THE USA BAT STICKER to be allowed in PONY.
